چکیده مقاله:

Introduction: Insulin resistance is associated with the pathophysiology of type 2 diabetes. Diabetes is also a major contributor to kidney disease. Nephropathy is one of the latecomplications of this disease, and one third of the diabetic patients can be observed for long periods of time without an asymptomatic. Local oxidative stress is a key componentin the development of diabetic nephropathy. In all, a number of pathways producing active oxygen species, such as glycolysis, are known to be major contributors to the pathogenesisof diabetes-induced renal disease. Variants of medicinal fungi are widely used in the treatment of diseases in home remedies, such as those of the Phellinus fungus that has anticancer and antioxidant properties. It has been observed that treatment with a species of this fungus has increased the antioxidant status in the pancreas, liver and kidney tissues. In this study we evaluated the effects of aqueous extract of Inocutis Levis mushroom on histology of the kidney of rats fed with sucrose solution. Animal Insulin resistance model wasinduced in rats fed by sucrose. Method: Thirty two male Wistar rats (160±5 gr in weight) divided into four groups (n=8), including control, a group fed with 30% sucrose for 10 weeks, and two groups which received sucrose with 150 and 50 mg /kg mushroom extracts intraperitoneally for 2 weeks. After the treatment period, the animals were anesthetized and the kidney tissue was transferred to formalin 10%. After confirmation of samples and preparation of histological sections and staining with H & E, tissue studies were performed with optical microscopy. Results: The results indicate that the aqueous extract of fungi at a concentration of 50 mg / kg in rats has increased the number of glomeruli compared with other groups. Also, in the injection of fungus extract at a concentration of 50 mg / kg, glomerular structure was destroyed. Discussion: The aqueous extract of Inocutis Levis does not appear to have any beneficial effects on the histology of the kidney in the course of insulin resistance, causing impaired renal function.
