چکیده مقاله:

Background: About 25 million agricultural workers in the developing world suffer from at least one episode of poisoning each year, mainly by anticholinesterase-likeorganophosphates (OPs). Diabetes has become epidemic because of its prevalent risk factors, including Western diet and physical inactivity in the modern life, though theenvironmental risk factors, particularly pesticide exposures, have also been linked to its development. There is increasing evidence reporting that OPs impair glucose homeostasisand cause insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes. Objectives: This study was aimed to evaluate the effects of Diazinon (DZ) on the severity of fasting blood glucose (FBS), histopathology of the liver tissue, and antioxidant capacity of the liver in diabetic rats. Materials and Methods: Diabetes was induced in rats by the acute dose of streptozotocin(35 mg/kg). Normal and diabetic rats were exposed daily to oral DZ at the dose of 20 mg/kg for 21 days. At the end of the study, blood glucose, histopathological parameters, and antioxidant status of the liver were measured. Results: Results showed that DZ impaired glucose tolerance test (GTT) and increased AUC of GTT curve and FBS. DZ exposure in diabetic rats caused changes in antioxidant status and histopathology results were shown more severity lesion in liver of diabetic receiving diazinon rats Conclusion: Ops, especially in this study DZ under subacute exposure had harmful effects on the liver and could irritate diabete. Therefore, there is a need for thought arrengements
