چکیده مقاله:

Background: The ESKAPE pathogens (Enterococcus faecium, Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiellapneumoniae, Acinetobacterbaumannii, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Enterobacterspp.) are the leading cause of nosocomial infections throughout the world. Most of them are multidrug resistant isolates and one of the global serious challenges in clinical practice. The aim of this study was detection of Carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae, Multidrug-resistant Acinetobacter, ESBL producing Enterobacteriaceae, Vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus (VRE), Multidrug-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Drug-resistant Shigella, Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Drug-resistant Streptococcusbecause CDC put these organisms on urgent and serious levels. Methods: In this cross sectional study different clinical specimens which was referred to laboratory of Mofid children hospital was included during on five months in this study. Conventional biochemical and microbiological methods was used for identification. Antibiotic susceptibility testing was done according to CLSI for which bacteria. Combination disc method by cephalosporin and clavulanic acid was used to detect ESBL producinfEnterobacteriacea. Results: 657 isolates were collected during five months that 244of them were ESKAPE antibiotic resistant. 41% of patients were female and 59% was male with age range between two up to 92 years old. Conclusion: Antibiotic resistant ESKAPE bacteria are global threating pathogens according to CDC report in 2013. Thus, frequency percentage of them should be determined in each hospital. The frequency of MDR Pseudomonas, MRSA and VRE is more than 50% and it can be consider in nosocomial infection committee in each health care system.
