چکیده مقاله:

Background: Staphylococcus aureus is the most common bacteria in the hospital infections that is different from the various community-acquired types according to the range of clinical symptoms and antibiotic resistance patterns. Considering the high incidence of antibiotic resistance patterns among strains of Staphylococcus aureus, especially MRSA strains, the study of colonization rate and antibiotic resistance pattern in hospital healthcare workers is necessary. Therefore, this study was conducted to investigate the prevalence of nasal carrier staphylococcus aureus and their antibiotic resistance patterns among nurses of Afzalipour hospital in Kerman.Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted on a total of 101 Nurses for 3 months. Nasal swabs were collected. After detection of Staphylococcus aureus isolates, the susceptibility to commonly used antibiotics was determined by disk diffusion method. Methicillin disk diffusion method was applied for detection of methicillin-resistant strains. Data were analyzed by SPSS software version 22 and the P value less than 0.05 was considered statistically significant.Findings: From 101 Nurses, 14 (13/9 %) were nasal carrier of Staphylococcus aureus, and 1 of these (1.7%) were resistant to methicillin. In this study, the results of Antibiotic sensitivity test indicated that resistance of strains to several antibiotics. Conclusion: Although colonization in the nurses was not significant, it is important to be aware of the possibility of diffusion and the presence of resistant types.
