چکیده مقاله:

Concrete is formed from water, aggregates, cement and maybe supplementary material. The researches for improving the mechanical behavior of it, like compression strength are continued. Nowadays, concretes are divided to some groups base of their weight and compression strength. Maybe reduction of the amount of the cement and maintain the compression strength in the desire range is the best condition, which should be justified from the structural and economical viewpoints. Pozzolan is the supplementary material that due to available silica of it, can releases the hydrated calcium silicate, which will be caused the increasing in solidity and compression strength. In this paper, the diatomite which is a natural pozzolan will be replaced in terms of weight instead of cement, in various 0, 5, 10, 12.5 and 15 percent. Totally, the results of 45 specimens were recorded. To investigate the performance of the diatomite, three ages which are 14, 28 and 90 days old, were selected. All of the specimens were cured at the laboratory condition and common temperature in the water bath. After breaking of the specimens, the recorded results are drawn and the most important conclusion remarks indicate that with increasing of the replaced diatomite, the compression strength is decreased, also the value reduction is justified versus to decrement of the consumable cement
