چکیده مقاله:

Ultrasound-guided nerve blocks are now routinely performed both for inpatient and day care ambulatory surgical procedures. The use of ultrasound to perform the blocks helps to identify and visualise the nerves, vessels, muscles and fascia. Visu a - lising the needle and injection of local anaesthetic in real time while performing the block not only increases the success of the block, but it is also vital for patient safety. Upper limb blocks above the clavicle include techniques for blocking the brachial plexus and the cer vical plexus. This includes the interscalene block, the supraclavicular and the supercial cervical plexus block. These blocks are mainly used for anaesthesia and analgesia for surgery on the clavicle, shoulder, arm, forearm and hand. In this article, we intend to review the ultrasound- guided blocks performed above the clavicle.
