چکیده مقاله:
Neuromodulation is the alteration of nerve activity through targeted delivery of a stimulus, such as electrical stimulation or chemical agents, to specific neurological sites in the body . It is applied to make normal or modulate nervous system and tissues. Neuromodulation is a developing treatment that can include a wide spectrum of electromagnetic stimuli such as a magnetic field, an electric current, or a medicine instillation in the subdural space (intrathecal drug delivery). The most clinical experiences have been done by electrical stimulation. Neuromodulation, whether electrical or magnetic, employs the body s natural biological response by influencing transmitters, or chemical. It may also be more direct electrophysiological effects on neural membranes. The final effect is a normalization of a neural network function. Treatment by neuromodulation has been investigated for chronic conditions, such as Chronic pain, Alzheimer’s disease, depression, etc. Also it has been applied as adjunctive therapy. Undoubedly, neuromodulation devices and treatments are life changing. Considering such a different therapeutic views, and significant nonstop improvements in biotechnology, it is not astonishing that neuromodulation would be one of the major leading industries for the next decade.
