چکیده مقاله:

Introduction: Hot flash has a significant impact on the sleep and quality of life. Various hormonal and nonhormonal agents have been used for the treatment of hot flashes Objectives: To determine the efficacy of SGB for alleviating hot flashes in menopause women Methods: Women suffered from at least two hot flashes a day for 1 month or longer were eligible for the study. The severity of hot flashes, The Insomnia Severity Index (ISI), and Mood disorders are measured using SF-36 (Item Short-Form Health Survey). These items are measured at baseline, and then 1, 2 and 4 weeks after. Results: SGB with Triamcinolone reduced hot flash frequency and score by almost 60%, compared to control group at 1 week (P = 0.001), 2 weeks (p=0.004), and 4 weeks (p=0.025). SGB with Triamcinolone was associated with a significant improvement in sleep compare to control. The SF-36 was significantly improved within SGB group compare to control group at 1 (p=0.02), 2 weeks (p=0.017), and 4 weeks (p=0.037). Conclusion: Stellate ganglion block with triamcinolone could effectively control hot flashes in menopause women and could significantly decrease their associated sleep problem and improve quality of life.
