چکیده مقاله:

In this presentation it is demonstrated as how a DBS system works. Some historical developments and commercial products for the DBS systems will be reviewed. In the meantime, a summary of the research work done under the support of COGC will be presented. This includes the current and voltage stimulator circuits and systems along with the charge balancing systems, impedance spectroscopy, the power telemetry circuits, and the development made so far for the DBS metal electrode for human. In the meantime, an inductive link for power transfer in order to charge the internal rechargeable battery is devised and implemented. A new wireless pulsed-current battery charger for implantable biomedical stimulators is introduced. Also, briefly the clinical animal tests on rat making use of our implemented DBS system is presented. Finally, our future work and a possible world roadmap for the DBS systems will be introduced. As far as the integrated stimulator circuit is concerned, a new power efficient differential multichannel adiabatic stimulator for deep brain stimulation is also introduced
