Predicting the Beliefs and Behavior of Sporting healthcare workers with Chronic Low Back Pain

Introduction: One approach to face with Chronic Low Back Pain is exercise behavior. The aim of this study was to assess the factors which predict the behavior of exercise among healthcare workers Chronic Low Back Pain in Tehran, Iran. Methods: This descriptive study conducted on 100 eligible healthcare workers suffering from chronic low back pain. A socio-demographic questionnaire, as well as a questionnaire regarding exercise behavior based on Theory of Reasoned Action, was used to collect data. Data were inserted into SPSS 16 and analyzed using Linear Regression analysis. Results: Totally 100 individuals with mean age of 44.12±7.9 years. The results showed the attitudes towards to the behavior was predictive (P<0.001). However, subjective norm was not predictor for intention to doing exercise behavior (P=0.042). This study showed intention was predictor for doing exercise behavior (P=0.042). Conclusion: The intentions and beliefs of health care workers who improve their pain due to chronic low back pain due to regular exercise behaviors.
