چکیده مقاله:

This research includes a study of the optical properties for material mono methyl succinate as a solution before and after irradiating it by three different doses of X-rays. The material powder is divided into four equal samples. The first sample is used for the study of the properties before irradiation, while the other three samples are irradiated with (1000, 2000, 3000) rad. of X-rays doses respectively. The crystallinity of the material is studied by using X-ray diffraction technique. It is found out that the material had a polycrystalline structure before and after irradiation. Afterward the four samples of the material were dissolved in the acetone liquid and prepared concentrations about (1-7%) for each sample. Therefore, the total number of the concentrations become (28) concentration. To study the optical properties, each of the absorbance, transmittance and the refractive index is measured, and then the reflectivity, coefficient of finesse, and the optical absorption coefficient are calculated. The results showed that the values of each of the absorbance, refractive index, reflectivity, and coefficient of finesse increase with the increasing of the solution concentration before and after irradiation and decrease with the increasing of radiation dose after irradiation, while the values of the transmittance decrease with the increasing of concentration before and after irradiation and increase with the increasing of the radiation dose after irradiation. It is shown that the values of the optical absorption coefficient decrease after irradiation with the increasing of the radiation dose.
