GC-MS analysis of essential oils extracted from the Lepidium aucheri boiss and studying the antioxidant and anticancer activities.

In this paper, essential oils have been extracted from the Lepidium aucheri boiss and they have been analyzed utilizing chromatography gas-mass spectrum. These oils contain thirteen chemical compounds. These compounds are monoterpenoids, sesquiterpenoids, irregular and Phenyl propanoids compounds. The antioxidant activity of the plant was examined by using diluted concentrations of the essential oils. Two methods have been used to determine the antioxidant activity: (i) the inhibition calculations of DPPH free radicals, (ii) by identifying the potential energy of the essential oils. The results showed that using the first method, a high-inhibited percentage in the concentration 0.5 mg/ml (67.53%) was observed, while the second method showed a highly absorption state in the concentration of 0.5 mg/ml (0.45). To examine the anticancer activity, four different concentrations have been prepared by calculating the inhibition percentage of tumor cell line growth. These concentrations were 50%, 25%, 12.50% and 6.25%, showing inhibition percentages of 55.64%, 59.20%,59.68 and 64.39%, respectively. We identified thirteen essential oils in L. aucheri boiss and studying the bioactivities.
