چکیده مقاله:

Small cell undifferentiated carcinoma also known as poorly differentiated neuroendocrine carcinoma, is a rare primary salivary gland tumor accounting for less than 1% of all salivary gland tumors. This tumor most arise in the major salivary glands, with approximately 60 cases reported in major salivary glands. Tumors cells exhibit ductal and neuroendocrine differentiation. It arises in third to seventh decades and male to female ratio is 1.65-2.75:1 Case report A 67 old year male was referred with a 2.5 cm diameter ulcer affected right hard palate. Duration of the lesion was approximately 3 months. Radiographic features showed bone resorption, in hard palate. Microscopic views demonstrated sheets and nests of epithelial cells composed of cuboidal cells with scanty eosinophil cytoplasm and larger polygonal cells with dark cytoplasm. Immunohistochemistry examinations showed neuroendocrine expression.
