چکیده مقاله:
Introduction and Objectives:Resistance to antibiotics is causing a lot of problems for infections treatment. For instance, side effects of antimicrobial agents is observed and expenses of treatment is enhanced. Therefore it is better to plan a project for reducing antibiotic abuse. The aim of this study is to assess incidence of resistance to antimicrobial agents at microbiology lab.Materials and Methods: We examined 1280 specimen in 2010 and 1470 in 2014 for patients suffering UTI or enteric infections. The resistance patterns were compared. Standard methods were used to do culture and antibiogram tests. All information were analyzed by SPSS and chi square. Results:The findings revealed that Escherichia coli, Proteus mirabilis and Shigella sonei were the most common bacteria who isolated from stool. Also Escherichia coli and coagulase negative Staph was isolated from urine cultures. In the period of four year, increasing resistance rates were absolute. For example, Escherichia coli for amoxicillin, ampicillin and trimeto prime- sulphamethoxazole, and Proteus mirabilis for penicillin group, Shigella for trimeto prime- sulphamethoxazole , coagulase negative Staph for cephalexin and erythromycin. There was no decrease in resistance rate. P value had a range from 0.001 to more than 0.005 for different antimicrobial agents in two period of time. Conclusion:Results showed the main increasing resistance rate for antimicrobial agents. Findings were similar to the other studies but for Shigella, there was a big resistance to trimeto prime- sulphamethoxazole. We suggest using antibiotics after antibiogram test and Educating programs for doctors and patients.
