Background: cutaneous vasculitis is defined as inflammation of blood vessels of the dermis However cutaneous vasculitisis not one specific disease but a manifestation that can be seen in a variety of setting. OBJECTIVE: we sought to review the clinical manifestation, laboratorial finding, pathological changes and etiologic association of cutaneous vasculitis in patient admitted to dermatology department of Razi hospital from 1998-2011. METHODS: We undertook retrospective analysis of patients with biopsy proven cutaneous vasculitis. All patients were hospitalized for at least one week with a histological diagnosis of vasculitis was identified from our histological records between 1998- 2011. Clinical notes were reviewed for clinical presentation and investigation performed. Results: We studied 56 patients with cutaneous vasculitis .Thirty five patients(62.5%) were femaleand twenty patients(37.5%) were male. 75% of patients had hypersensitivity vasculitis, 10.6% had henochschonleinpurpura, 9% had urticarial vasculitis and 5.4% had polyartetitisnodosa. Conclusion: It seems that hypersensitivity vasculitisis the most common form of cutaneous vasculitis.The main clinicalmanifestation of hypersensitivity vasculitis are skin and joint symtoms.
