چکیده مقاله:

IntroductionChordoid meningioma is a rare histologic variant of meningioma that is histologicallysimilar to chordoma, with cords of small epithelioid tumour cells. The giant hyalinizedcollagen rosette is a well-circumscribed nodule with spindle-shaped fibrous to hyalinizedstroma with criss-crossing short fascicles and surrounded by a rim of spindle-shaped cells.Case report:A 58-year-old woman presented with epilepsy, right hemiparesis and attact of falling downon admission. Imaging showed a homogeneously enhanced mass lesion adjacent to thefrontal bone. Frontal craniotomy was performed. The tumor surface was gelatinous, and itwas totally resected. Microscopic examination showed nests and cords of spindle andepithelioid cells with abundant myxoid matrix. There were many giant hyalinized collagenrosettes in this tumor. Immunohistochemical studies revealed that the tumor cells werestrongly positive for epithelial membranous antigen (EMA) and vimentin and negative forcytokeratin and S-100. On the basis of radiological, histological and immunohistochemical, ,chordoid meningioma was verified, and it is the first case reported of meningioma that isconsisting of giant hyalinized collagen rosetteConclusionMeningioma is common tumour of the CNS that originate from the meningeal coverings ofthe spinal cord and the brain, but Chordoied meningioma is reletivly rare histological variantof meningioma.
