چکیده مقاله:

Background and Aim:Pseudomonas aeruginosa is one of the important opportunistic pathogen associated whit nosocomial infections.show high level of antibiotic resistance. Therefore, finding an appropriate treatment is challenging for infection caused by pseudomonas aeroginosa. The aim of this study was to determine the frequency of sulfonamide resistance gene (sul1) and antimicrobial resistance profile of P.aeruginosa isolates.Methods:70 clinical isolates were collected from various clinical specimens in Tehran hospital. all isolates were identified by biochemical tests .Antimicrobial susceptibility profile were determined against 12 antibiotics and using the standard kirby -bauer disk diffusion method according to Clinical and Laboratory Standard Institute (CLSI) guideline. Moreover, macro broth dilution method used in order to determining of minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) for Impenem,Gentamycin,Cefepime,Ciprofloxacin. PCR assay was performed for detection Sul1 gene using specific primer.Results:among 70 evaluated strain of P.aeruginosa isolate, (55.71%) were multi drug resistant .based on Kirby-baure method, co-trimoxazole with (98.3%) and Meropenem (1.6%) resistance showed the highest and lowest resistance against isolate.among the antibiotics studied to determine mic ,the most resistance was observed to Imipenem (54.8%).the Sul1 gene were detected in (35.71%) of isolates.Conclusion:The result of study indicated that had high range of resistance to different antibiotics among strain of P.aeroginosa isolated from different clinical sample ,so fast and accurate measurement and evaluation of antibiotic resistance for appropriate antibiotic therapy is imperative
