چکیده مقاله:
Recently, the interest of grid-stiffened composite (GSC) structures has grown rapidly for their superior properties of high specific stiffness and strength, superior load-bearing capacity, and excellent energy absorption capability. GSC structures undergo various loading conditions during their service life. The aim of the present work is to study the high-velocity impact behaviors of GSC panels reinforced by two different fibrous reinforcements of E-glass and basalt in ribs. The composite panels were fabricated using a manual filament winding route, followed by a static compression on them. The results of this study demonstrated that impact characteristics of two composites (impactlimit velocity and total energy absorption) are different when compared with others. Using the basalt fiber instead of Eglass in the structure of enhanced the energy absorption by 15%. This suggests the possibility to apply basalt as a possible replacement for E-glass which is nowadays largely employed in the fabrication of GSC structures for mpactexposedconditions.
