muhammad iqbal is not just a muslim mystic who is solely concerned with mysticism or gnosis as were ghazzali.muhyi din ibne arabi or rumi, they emphasized individual evoloution. Purification of the soul and the inner illuminated self. They only develiped an trained a few people like themselves but for the must part. remained oblivious to the out side world. having been almost unaware of the mongol attack and the subsequent despotic rue and supperssion of the people iqbal is also not like abu muslim ir salah ud din ayyubi and personalitilies like them who in the history of islam are simply men of the sword power war and stuggle and who consider the exescise of power ind the defalt of the ememy unough of effect reforn and revolution in the minds of the people and in their social relationships. nor in iqbal similar to those learned individuls like the indian sir syed ah,ad khan who imagined that no matter in what situation islam society is even if it is under the domination of a british viceroy it can be revived with modern scholary interpretections or with 20 century scientific and logical commentaries on islam tentes and quranic verses. as well as through profound philosophical and scholarly research.
