The effect of communication skills training and sexual difference (Sexual Knowledge) on Marital Satisfaction

Introduction: This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of teaching communicationskills and sexual difference (sexual knowledge) on marital satisfaction in couples referredto the Mashhad city Health Center, Iran.Methods: In This Quazi-experimental study, with pre test and post-test methods, 25coups who referred to a Mashhad city health center, were randomly selected. Enrichmarital satisfaction questionnaire was used to measure variables. Teaching communicationskills and sexual difference as independent variables were held during 2 months in 14sessions (communication skills in seven 2-hours sessions and sexual differences (sexualknowledge) in six 60-minutie sessions). Paired T-test has used for data analysis.Results: Results showed that there is significant difference between pre-test and post-testscores (P<0.0001). This demonstrated that teaching communication skills in combinationwith sexual differences were effective on martial satisfaction.Conclusion: Results of this study indicated that teaching communication skills and sexualdifferences (sexual knowledge) were effective on martial satisfaction and enhancement ofpsychological well-being of couples.
