چکیده مقاله:

Active procrastination is a positive form of procrastination that leads to desirable outcomes. The current study sought to examine the relationship between active procrastination behavior and Big Five personality traits of EFL learners. A total of 156 intermediate learners, 52 males and 104 females, studying in different English institutes in Semnan province participated in this study. The participants were asked to provide their demographic data and complete two questionnaires (i.e., Active Procrastination Scale, and Big Five inventory). Data were analyzed by using Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression analyses. Results reveal that active procrastinationwas negatively correlated with neuroticism and positively with openness to experience. However, neuroticism only positively predicted active procrastination. The results have important implications about prevention and counseling of EFL learners
