Educational technology and language learning

Since the advent of human society, the world is changing with amazing and exciting speed. As we know, life is dynamic, therefore, change is the rule of nature and all possible pedagogic and educational organizations have to keep step with changing environment, which is beyond human authority. Technology has played an essential role in revolutionizing our world in many features and details. In language teaching and learning, there are different types of educational technologies such as: Radio, TV, audio CDs, visual CDs, computers, laptops, the internet, electronic dictionary, mobile devices, power point slides, video projections, Skype and DVDs. Today all the schools andeducational institutes believe that cyber technologies are improved and facilitated the process of teaching and learning language. Suppose that when teaching and learning are mixed with technology, wonderful results and outcomes will be there. This paper attempts to find out the importance of educational technologies in teaching and learning English language. Moreover, it intends to make English teachers familiar with the strategies to use it in a successful techniques and procedures. To achieve this aim, questionnaires with Likert scale questions were used in this study. Forty participants were included in this study. The data was analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) to obtain accurate results. Therefore, Educational technology tools can clearly be effective in developing the students’ language and communication skills.
