چکیده مقاله:
Collocations are considered important in language learning because they signal the proficiency level of the speaker. Collocations make language production faster and are necessary for understanding the input. This study is a survey of how collocations are taught and practiced in EFL course books. For this aim, three popular series (Top Notch, Touchstone and The New Total English) which are currently taught in English language institutes in Iran, were selected and scrutinized in order to locate collocational exercises. The findings revealed a general lack of attention to collocations most apparently in two of the series under investigation. This study can be informative for syllabus designers, EFL institutes and interested teachers
