چکیده مقاله:

The present study aimed to investigate the effect of pre-task planning time on EFl learner’s oral production in terms of accuracy and complexity. It especially addressed the role of gender in oral production of the participants of the study. To do so, 40 intermediate-level EFL learners from one of the Shahrekord, Iran, language institute participated in this study. The participants were randomly assigned into two groups of 20 as a rehearsal, and no pre-task planning groups. Secondly, they were divided into male and female groups, and they were asked to describe the pictures depicting a story. Participant’s oral production was measured in terms of complexity, and accuracy. Having gathered the data and analyzing them through independent Samples t-test, the results revealed that first; rehearsal planning improved the complexity and accuracy of participant’s oral production. And second, it was found out that the candidates’ gender has a significant effect on their oral production in terms of complexity and accuracy. The result of studies like the current will help teachers and curriculum developers in making decision about educational program.
