Epistemology of Sensory Perception andIts Role in Architecture

Sensory perception is the first source of human knowledge to the world in which it consists of, on the one hand, the person s spiritual characteristics, experiences and motives in social situations, and on the other, including the physical characteristics of the individual and the physiological response Or his emotion. In other words, sensory perception is a means to reveal the perceptions and express the emotional thoughts and can be defined from different aspects of psychology, logic, epistemology, ar-chitecture and urbanization. In the fifties of the twentieth century, with the expansion of the theoretical and epistemological field of postmodernism and de constructivism worldview, ideological frameworks and new theoretical paradigms of other disciplines gradually entered into the architectural discourse. Among these are the approaches between phenomenological approaches and attention to sensory per-ceptions in various fields of psychology, epistemology, philosophy, as well as architecture and urbani-zation.From the past, there are similarities and differences in the views of Islamic and Western philosophers in relation to the epistemology of sensory perception and continues to this day. As Islamic epistemology was based on the levels of existence and the various cognitive tools of man (sensory experiences, ra-tional arguments, and mystical manifestations), other Western philosophers considered sensory percep-tion based on mental, sensory, rational, and intuitive experiences. In this paper, from the perspective of epistemology, the phenomenon of sensory perception is considered as one of the ways of epistemology. After collecting the views of some scholars, architects and urbanisms, scholars and philosophers of var-ious historical periods, we have tried to shape the role of sensory perception on Architecture to be ana-lyzed.
