Introduction & Aim: Breast cancer is the second most common cancer after lung cancer and the first cause of death from cancers in women. More than 502000 people die in Iran annually because of breast cancer. However, rising life expectancy and aging populations in Iran are expected to increase. The present study was conducted to investigate the mortality rate of breast cancer in Ardabil province and its age and sex distribution.Methods: This study was carried out using Death data recorded at Health Deputy of Ardebil University of Medical Sciences from 2011-15. The death process was examined for a total of five years and its age, sex, and seasonal distribution.RESULTS: In this study, a total of 98 deaths were reported in 5 years for breast cancer in Ardebil province. 96% were in women and the highest mortality rate was in the age group of 30-60 years with 65% of all deaths. Also, most deaths occurred in the autumn. The lowest number of deaths is in 2011 and the highest in 2014.Discussion: Given that breast cancer is detectable in the early stages, on the one hand, by changing lifestyle and nutrition patterns of the community and increasing the life expectancy of the population, the development of programs to prevent the onset or timely identification of treatment and reduction The death rate is important because of this.
