چکیده مقاله:
Introduction & Aim: Phosphatidylinositid three kinase (PI3K) is a group of enzymes that involve in cellular growth, proliferation, differentiation, motility, intracellular trafficking and survival which has an important role in human cancer. PIK3CA is a gene that encodes alpha catalytic subunit of this enzyme. In this study we analyzed one SNP in rs7640662(C/G) of PIK3CA and its association to breast cancer. Methods: In this case-control study, DNA was extracted from peripheral blood samples of 150 femalepatients with breast cancer and 128 female controls from Iranian population. We used T-ARMS PCR technique to detection of rs7640662-SNP and PCR productions were loaded on agarose gel and they had done electrophoresis. The analysis of data was done by SPSS software. Results: The outcomes of the present study highlight no significant differences between rs7640662(C/G) and risk of breast cancer in Iranian population. Conclusions: To the best of our knowledge, there is not an association between PIK3CA gene polymorphism in rs7640662(C/G) and the risk of breast cancer. For more confirmation of this result, we need analysis different population with larger sample size.
