چکیده مقاله:
Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a neurobehavioral condition that causes some problems in communication skills and social interactions and developmental language combined with repetitive and aggressive behaviors. The age of showing sign of autism is different; some children show symptoms and signs in early infancy. Other children may have normal development in the first few months of life, but then suddenly become aggressive or language skill decline. ASD ranges in severity and symptoms vary from handicap to normal life to a devastating disability that may require institutional care. ASD has no single known cause. There are many causes such as genetic, environment. Several different genes appear to be involved in autism. For some children, ASD can be associated with a genetic disorder, such as Phenylketonuria ( PKU), Rett syndrome, Fragile X syndrome and Tuberous sclerosis. Some mutations may increase the risk of autism. One of the reasons indicating the major role of genes in the development of autism is research about twins. Identical twins are more likely to both be affected than twins whoare fraternal. Sometimes, parents or other relations of an autistic child havemild social impairments. Autism affects children of all races and nationalities, but certain factors increase the child’s risk; Boys more likely to develop autism than girls. Moreover, families who have one child with ASD have an increased risk of having another child with the disorder. Environmental factors such as viral infections, air pollutants, toxins, medication or pregnancy problems, encephalitis play a role in triggering autism. Thus, ASD is a neurobehavioral condition affected by genetic and environmental factors.
