چکیده مقاله:
In the recent research, impact energy absorption and fracture behavior of aluminumcomposite laminates having different interfacial bonding in addition of discrepancy in architecturallayer arrangement have been studied under dynamic loading. Doing this, two similar laminates, i.e.:Al6061-5vol.% SiC/Al1050/Al6061-5vol.% SiC (L(C5)) and Al6061-10vol.%SiC/Al1050/Al6061-10vol.% SiC (L(C10)), as well as one dissimilar layered structures, Al6061-5vol.%SiC/Al1050/Al6061-10vol.%SiC (L(C5/C10)), were fabricated by means of hot roll-bondingwith applying different strains of 39%, 51%, and 63%. The results of energy absorption indicatethat, not only the impact energy of laminates depends on the volume fraction of composite lamellas, and the interfacial bonding of metal/composite layers but also the arrangement of layers governsenergy absorption. It was found that the impact behavior of similar composite laminates weredecreased by increasing interfacial adhesion. In these cases the length of delamination, as well as,superior deformability of Al1050 inter-layer were introduced as two micro-mechanism of thefracture under dynamic loading. On the contrary, in dissimilar laminates the trend of energyabsorption was ascending with rolling strain, and did not adhere rule of mixture. It was found thatin the later laminates, the impact results at lowest rolling reduction was close to LC(10) laminaterolled via minimum strain, while in the most adhesive laminate, the value of energy absorption wasinclined to L(C5) sample with 63% strain. It is notable that, in the dissimilar laminates, besides twoprevious fracture micro-mechanism, the arrangement of composites layers control the fracturebehavior.
