Effect of aromatherapy with Rosa damascena on arteriovenous fistula puncture-related pain in hemodialysis patients

Background: Pain and stress of hemodialysis are experienced by more than 50% of patients who are suffering from renal disease. The current study was done to determine the effect of aromatherapy with Rosa damascena on arteriovenous fistula puncture-related pain in hemodialysis patients. Methods: This clinical trial was conducted on 40 hemodialysis patients in 2016. The patients were selected by simple random sampling method and placed in one group. Results: The study group had contained males, females , with an average age of and a range of 18 to 65 years old, which shows that the pain intensity of the aromatherapy with Rosa damascena method was lower than the pretest. Conclusions: can be used as aromatherapy with Rosa damascena method to reduce pain of hemodialysis patients.
