According to low cost, mammography compared to other diagnostic methods is preferred. Especially in the diagnosis of stage 1 tumors. Material and methods:in this review article we use databases of scopus, pubmed, science direct by focus on diagnosis of breast masses.Discussions and scientific results have been used in the formulation of article. Result: According to breast imaging techniques, different conditions of breast include:1)normal breast2)Typically benign masses3) Probably benignmasses4) Non-circumscribed masses5) Spiculatedmasses.Ultrasound findings of malignancy was confirmed by mammography. MRI is using for check the progress of the treatment process and also helpful in patients with ductal carcinoma. Discussion: the purpose of radiology is early detection of breast cancer. The sensitivity of mammography is heavily influenced by soft tissue density. mammography sensitivity decreases with increasing breast density. ultrasound is better than mammography in young people with dense breast tissue. Also has proven role in differentiation of solid from cystic masses. MRI is more sensitive than mammography and Better than other methods shows remnants of the tumor after chemotherapy.and it s successful in Finding metastatic lymph nodes in the underarm area. Conclusion: mammographyisgold standard in diagnosis. Other imaging methods can not replace mammography,But in some cases, mammography and sonography can be used as a complementary diagnostic method.
