چکیده مقاله:

Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer and leading cause of cancer mortality in women worldwide. Several studies have examined the role of single nutrients and food groups in breast cancer pathogenesis but fewer investigations have addressed the role of dietary patterns. This study aimed to review the current evidence regarding the association of dietary patterns and breast cancer. We searched PubMed for related publications using breast cancer , diet , food , eating habits and dietary patterns as keywords. We searched for papers that had been published between 2001 and 2015 and were on human subjects. . About 350 papers were identified and after the elimination of papers that were unrelated to the subject the 41 relevant studies available for review were examined. Most studies suggest an inverse association between consumption of a Mediterranean diet in premenopausal and postmenopausal women, although some studies did not see nothing. Dietary pattern characterized by high consumption of fruits, vegetables, fish, soybeans and their derivatives and low consumption of fat reduces risk of breast cancer. The consumption of unhealthy / western dietary pattern increase in breast cancer risk was observed in most studies. Results on the traditional / ethnic dietary pattern conflicted, while in the reviewed studies alcohol consumption was associated with an increased risk of breast cancer. So it seems that despite recent research in the field of Dietary patterns and risk of breast cancer contradictory results that further studies are needed to draw firm conclusions.
