چکیده مقاله:

Introduction: Breast cancer imposes large costs on society. Performing breast cancer screening Tests (BCST) considered as a health promotion behavior, and are therefore important. The aim of the study was to assess the impact of educational intervention based on integrated model of planned behavior and selfefficacy (PBSEIM) on performing breast screening tests among female workers. Methods: It was randomized controlled clinical trial study. Seventy women working in 2 different industries included in this study. Samples were recruited and randomized into two groups (35 women in intervention group and 35 in control group). Data was collected by valid and reliable questionnaire. The intervention based on PBSEIM was conducted for 5 sessions in intervention group. Control group received no intervention. After the last intervention, data was compared between control group and intervention group using statistical analysis. Results: Results revealed that before the intervention, there was no significant difference in all constructs of the research model (PBSEIM) such as: attitude, subjective norm, perceived behavioral control, self-efficacy, intention and behavior; between intervention group and control group (P> 0.05). Moreover, after the intervention, the difference between two groups was significant in all constructs of the model (P<0.05). The greatest difference was in self-efficacy construct. Conclusion: Model-based interventions can help us to realize the effective factors for performing breast cancer screening tests for female workers; and designing the specific interventions due to their needs. Also help us to empower female workers in performing BCST and promoting their health status.
