چکیده مقاله:

Neonatal fulminant purpura is a rare but grave life-threatening disease with significant sequelae in survivors. It may be congenital or acquired. The congenital form is due to deficiency in protein C, protein S and antithrombin III and the acquired form is usually causes by severe Gram-negative or group B streptococcal infections.The main presentation of the disease is with disseminated intravascular coagulation and major subcutaneous thromboses, cutaneous necrosis and multi-organ damage that may lead to death. Despite recent advanced in treatment, mortality and morbidity is still high and survived patients face neurologic complications and extensive persistent long-life amputations.
