Resilient city: focus on strategies

Resilient city is a very crucial topic nowadays. Increasing population and cities growth addition to, sustainability challenge and raising new challenges which highlight the resilience capacity. Urban designers contribute to this challenge in a transdisciplinary mode in which science and research are integrated with planning policies and designapplications. This article provides a review of definition of the resilient city. Then the strategies are discussed and are illustrated, moreover innovative policies, projects, and programs selected from international examples are explained. Finally, recommendations are provided to contribute to stepping toward resilient city
