چکیده مقاله:

Breast cancer is one of the major causes of cancer-related deaths around the world and the most common cancer among women. Micro RNAs (miRNAs) are small non-coding RNA molecules that inhibit gene expression post-transcriptionally by degrading the target mRNA and blocking translation, miRNAs act as major regulators in both human cancer progression and initiation, including that of breast cancer. Pre-miR-193a can generate miR-193a-5p -3p and miR-193a, which are passenger and dominant arms, respectively. MiR-193a-3p can suppress tumor development in humans by silencing HIC2, SRSF2, PSEN1 and etc. In addition, miR-193a-5p can suppress tumor development by modulating cancer cell growth and, Mir- 193a suppresses the invasion, and migration of breast cancer cells Also Wilms tumor 1 (WT1) acts as an oncogene in breast cancer, TheWT1 gene encodes a transcriptional regulator, and RNA-binding protein that can activate or inhibit multiple target genes, leading differentiation, proliferation, and apoptosis. Recent studies report an overexpression of WT1 and down-regulation of miR-193a in breast cancer interestingly miR-193a and WT1 expression were significantly inversely correlated in breast cancer tissues. In this review, we aim to evaluate the role of microRNA-193a and WT1 in breast cancer and explain the mechanism of interaction between them to elucidate their therapeutic benefits. In conclusion miR-193a acts as a tumor suppressor by targetingWT1, thereby suppressing breast cancer growth and metastasis. Restoration of miR-193a expression and blocking WT1 may be a novel target for breast cancer clinical therapies and also novel biomarkers for prognosis and diagnosis or early detection of breast cancer
