Risk assessment of colorectal cancer

Cancers is now the third leading cause of death in Iran Colorectal cancer is a lethal and relatively common disease (7 out of 100000). The 5 year survival rate of this cancer in Iran is %47.26, which is lower than global statistics and expresses the importance of research and attention to colorectal cancer in Iran.The medical science risk assessment tool allows researchers to identify the person at risk andinform the person about the disease in the coming years.This review study was based on the use of key words such as: colorectal, risk assessment, risk score from medical databases (SID, Pubmed,Googlescholar, ScienceDirect) and found 41 relevant articles.The results showed that the colorectal genetic risk score is more efficient than other non-genetic methods. The average score for this methodwas %0.66, which is more than others.In the genetic model, a biomarker has been used to investigate the changes in the structure of DNA and mRNA.According to the implementation of the 10 yearcardiovascular risk program in the country, using informed methods such as the risk for all cancers is beneficial. Since colorectal cancer in Iran is relatively common, use of risk assessment methods such as non-genetic risk factors models will be effective for lower costs than genetic models
