Evaluate of influential factors having relapse of patients with leukemia cancer using logistic regression model

چکیده مقاله:

Most of researches show that the type of blood cancer is a critical factor for condition of patients after receiving BMT (Bone Marrow Transplant). The aim of this paper is considering the relation between type of diseases and relapsing after receiving BMT and also considering the relation between type of receiving the BMT and relapsing after receiving BMT . The data set has been gathered during 9months from patients of all over of Iran with various type of blood cancer nominated for receiving BMT, registered in1386 to 1394 in Department of BMT, Taleghani hospital affiliated to Shahid Beheshti University of Medical sciences. 300 patients are randomly selected. Analysis was performed using Logistic Regression model. The types of disease are: MM, NHL and HD. The types of receiving BMT are: Allogen and Autolog. Relapsings after receiving BMT are: meeting relapse and not meeting relapse. According to these data and based on Logistic Regression model, we found out that the relation between type of disease and relapsing after receiving BMT is significant.(p-value=0.048). The estimated odds of having relapse after receiving BMT for MM group equals 1.71 times the estimated odds for HD group with 95% confidence interval (.92 3.13 ) ,and for NHL group equals 1.67 times for HD group with 95% confidence interval (.7 3.71 ). Relation between type of receiving BMT and having relapse after receiving BMT is not significant (p-value ›.05). This study showed that patient with the MM cancer- type has the highest chance for meeting the relapse after receiving BMT
