Due to imperative characteristics, the metal mixed ligand complexes with pyridoxal derivatives Schiff bases provide the interesting research field in last decade. This compound plays the notable role indifferent biochemical procedures such as limitation of carcinogenesis and antioxidant effects. It has been demonstrated that the metal core Schiff base complex have the antitumorigenic activity while itenhances upon coordination.In the current study, the cytotoxic effect of Mn (II) core of N, N dipyrodoxyl (ethylenediamine) on breast cancer cell (MCF7 cell line) were assessed by MTT assay. MTT assay is based on colorimetric assessing of NAD (P) H-dependent cellular oxidoreductase enzymes. The cells were proliferated in RPMI with 10% FBS and treated with different concentration of Schiff base (0.5mg/ml-1μgr/ml). Our results showed that the Mn (II) core of N, N dipyrodoxyl (ethylenediamine) inhibited the MCF7 proliferation. The obtained results of MTT assay in 24, 48, and 72 hours after treatment demonstrated that the half maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50) of N, N dipyrodoxyl (ethylenediamine) on 62.5 were 65%, 37%, and 35% viability respectively. According to our investigation, the Mn (II) core of N, N dipyrodoxyl (ethylenediamine) limited the proliferation of breast cancer-related cell line MCF7. Our results indicate the anticancer activity of provided Schiff base complex. Indeed, the inhibitory effect accelerated by elevating the Schiff base complex concentration or time of treatment. It is suggested that it could be the appropriate candidate for animal study then clinical trial usage.
