چکیده مقاله:

This research aimed to uncover the differences between Entrepreneurship Intention (EI) of an efficiency-driven economy – Malaysia and innovation-driven economies (United Kingdom, Australia and Singapore) and analyze the relationship between EI and the antecedents based on the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB); attitudes (AT), subjective norms (SN), and perceived behavior control (PBC). Multi-stage sampling was used to obtain one hundred and fifty-three responses from online questionnaires for developed countries’ respondents, and face-toface surveys for Malaysian respondents. There are significant differences in the TPB’s antecedents between respondents from efficiency-driven and innovation-driven countries. There are significant differences in EI between respondents of different genders, and from different economy types, as well as significant interaction effect between the two variables gender and economy type. In conclusion, while governments from developing countries ought to nurture aspiring entrepreneurs, developed countries should devise policies that increase entrepreneurial intention among youths.
