چکیده مقاله:

Nitrophenol compounds have been used in many industries such as pharmaceutical, chemical, pesticides, which is considered as one of the priority pollutants categorized by USEPA. This pollutant has been measured in industrial effluents and current treatment methods such as adsorption, chemical oxidation and others may not removal completely from waters. The most important compound is 2, 4-dinitrophenol which is used in many chemical and petrochemical industries. This pollutant is highly toxic and long term exposure to that may affects on bone, central nervous system, cardiovascular system can cause cataract, lymph node swelling, eczema, loss of nails, increase metabolic rate, increased body temperature, headache, profuse sweating, thirst and fatigue. The LC50 for these pollutants, for 24 and 48h of daphnia organism is 4.1 and 4.5 mg/L, respectively. In order to effluent entrance in the environment, without any proper treatment, several environmental problems and discharge standards, a novel treatment method is needed. In Iran, based on presence of different chemical and petrochemical industries, applying new method for removal of refractory organics from drinking water is necessary. The objective of this study is the evaluation of the performance of magnetic carbon nanotube for removal of 2, 4-DNP from aqueous solutions.
