A method to derive local weights in the analytic hierarchy process

This paper proposes a new linear programming method for weights generation in analytic hierarchy process (AHP) which employs variable weight concept from data envelopment analysis (DEA). In this new method, we propose three specially constructed linear programming (LP) models which are used to derive weight vector from a pair-wise comparison matrix or group of them. We can use relative importance weight for each decision maker in new method. In this method we need to solve only one LP model to derive local weights and it doesn’t need to normalize derived weight vector.
