A POSSIBILISTIC PROGRAMMING APPROACH FOR SOLVING MULTI-OBJECTIVE LOCATION-DISTRIBUTION PROBLEM IN SUPPLY CHAINS

In this paper we address supply chain network design (SCND) problem in which locations of distribution centers (DCs), and shipment quantity from each opened DC to each customer are to be determined. In addition to minimizing the total cost of location and distribution, we also minimize total risk in the network. Here, risks of the network are composed of risks related to each potential DC location and also each arc connecting two nodes in each adjacent pair of echelons. Regarding vague and imprecise nature of risk, we consider them as fuzzy numbers instead if crisp parameters. Furthermore, in many situations in the real world customers’ demands and capacities of DCs cannot be determined precisely; rather, one can provide estimations for them which can also be expressed using fuzzy numbers. A possibilistic programming approach is proposed to deal with this problem, and a numerical example for three levels of possibility is conducted.
