Evaluation of total phenolic content and antioxidant activity of polyphenol-rich extract from Adiantum capillus-veneris leaves

The total phenolic content and antioxidant activity of polyphenol-rich extract of Adiantum capillus-veneris leaves wereinvestigated. The extract showed significant amount of phenolic compounds (375.03 ± 4.52 mg GAE/g of extract) andstrong antioxidant activity with an IC50 of 12.10 ± 0.53 μg mL-1. These findings highlighted a scientific basis to thetraditional usage of A. capillus-veneris, also showed its potential as a rich source of natural antioxidant.
