چکیده مقاله:

In this research activated clay was treated with sulfuric acid for the process of removing trace olefins fromaromatics stream. Natural clay and activated clay were characterized by X-ray Diffraction, X-rayFluorescence and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). XRF Analysis showed replacement of interlayercations of natural clay with H+. XRD analysis approved structural stability of clay against acidification.SEM images showed acid treatment eroded edges of natural clay while edges of platelets became moreopened. The pilot test of natural clay and activated clay showed acidic procedure has significant influenceon catalytic activity of clay.
