چکیده مقاله:

In this research the focus of the researcher is to investigate the imagination of magic, mysticism and the supernatural in modern selected poetry of William Butler Yeats. To fulfill the purpose of study, the magical elements in the poems of Yeat’s perform the function of subverting the parts of reality that explain new way for the enjoyment of readers.. Yeats had a deep fascination with mysticism and the occult, and his poetry is infused with a sense of the other worldly, the spiritual, and the unknown. His interest in the occult began with his study of theosophy as a young man and expanded and developed through his participation in the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, mystical secret society. Mysticism figures prominently in Yeats discussion of the reincarnation of the soul, as well as in his philosophical model of the conical gyres used to explain the journey of the soul, the passage of time and the guiding hand of fate. Mysticism and the occult occur again and again in yeat’s poetry, most explicitly in The Second Coming , but also in poem such as Sailing to Byzantium and Among the School Children .Yeat’s thought himself to be one of the last of the classical romantics; he celebrated the power of imagination to help see and empathize deeply. Yeat’s was greatly influenced by early nineteenth-century artist William Blake, who emphasized the supreme importance of visionary imagination.yeat’s life long study of mythology, theosophy, spirit tualism, philosophy, and the occult demonstrate his preformed interest in the divine and how it interacts with humanity. As a writer who devoted himself to building Irish culture and literature, Yeats’s position as a postcolonial figure seems obvious. This critical discussion rests on the question of Ireland place as a postcolonial nation, argues for Yeats as a decolonizing writer. Seamus Dean’s Celtic Revivals raises important questions about the images of nation and history.
