Sn4+ doping effects on structural and magnetic treatment of nano strontium hexaferrites

چکیده مقاله:

Introduction: The usage of hexagonal ferrites as a permanent magnet, data recording was prevailed. Some characteristics of hexagonal ferrites can be changed and adjusted by using dopants. In this paper Sn-Zn-Co-substituted Strontium were prepared by sol-gel auto combustion method.Material & methods: Sr(NO3)2, Fe(NO3)3,Co(NO3)2,Zn(NO3)2, SnCl4 and citric acid as a fuel were used. Stoichiometric amount of salts was dissolved in deionized water then appropriate quantity of citric acid was added. For converting sol to gel, the solution was heated up to 110°C. The gel ignited and the products are calcined at 800°C. Result & discussion: All the specimens matched with the JCPDS card No 01-079-1412 which exactly indicate Sr-hexagonal ferrites. Structure of all the samples were in the form of hexagonal shape. Sizes of the particles were in the range of 62 nm. The Hysteresis loops of pure ferrite indicated that the sample was belonging to the hard materials. By dopants addition, magnetic properties suddenly changed and samples becoming soft ferrites.
