چکیده مقاله:
Objective: A present survey has been done on eye parasite infection, Diplostomum spathaseum in two different river locations: Sefid-rud River and Heshmat-rud River in Cyprinus carpio during 2007-2008.
Method & Materials: This investigation was carried out on Cyprinus carpio in Sefid-rud River and Heshmat-rud River. 95 fish (50 males and 45 females) were collected from Sefid-rud River, and 60 fish (35 males and 25 females) from Heshmat-rud River. Fish were studied in the laboratory, and parasites were identified according toavailable identification keys (Moravec, 1994). Statistical analyse were performed using SPSS.10.0.5, Excel package and used a nonparametric Kruskal-Wallis and X2 tests.
Results & Conclusion: Prevalence rate and mean intensity ± standard deviation were calculated and according to the results, it was revealed that the prevalence and intensity of this parasite in Heshmat-rud River was significantly higher than those in Sefid-rud River (p<0.01). The prevalence and intensity of this parasite in females were higher than those in males and a direct relation was found between the number of parasites and size of fish (p<0.05). So according to this study, there was reciprocal connection with the infection and pollution rate of fish, sexuality and seasons..
