Two species of Cladiscoides (Monogenea: Diplectanidae) from Lethrinus nebulosus (Lethrinidae) in Persian Gulf, Hormozgan, Iran.

Objective: Parasites are a group of animals that have important role in biodiversity. Also they can damage their host Lethrinus nebulosus is a commercial species in Persian Gulf. The objective of this study was to identify the parasitic infecton of this fish. Method & Materials: Fish specimens were caught from Bandar-Abbas and Bandar-e-Lengeh stations. All fish were measured and weighed. Gills were examined under stereoscope and light microscopes. Monogenea were moved onto clean-glasses and fixed for future. Results & Conclusion: Two species of the genus Cladiscoides (Family: Diplectanidae) were found in gills of Lethrinus nebulosus, Calydiscoides sp1 and Calydiscoides sp2. These genera had been recorded in Caledonia, Malasyia and in marine fish of Kuwait. It is first record of Calydiscoides in Iran
