Study of pathological lesions of gastro-intestinal helminthes in catfishes (Silurus glanis) from Zarineh-Roud River

Objective: With respect to importance and role of fishes in taking of alimentary requirements as well as development of fishery industry, it is necessary that we have adequate attention to perils which threat nurture and propagation of fishes. The purpose of this survey is to identify and specify the catfish helminthes, to study the histopathological lesion causeded by worms and also to determine parasitic contamination in different seasons of the year. Method & Materials: Catfishes (Silurus glanis) were collected from Zarineh-Roud River. First the biometry scrutiny was performed, then digestive tract emitted and inserted in the Formalin 10%. The inner space of abdomen sought for detecting of parasitic larvae. If the larva detected, that site was parted and inserted in the Formalin. Parasites inserted in the separate containers of maintaining solutions. Afterwards the stage of fixation and coloration of parasites performed and pathologic sections were prepared. Results & Conclusion: Six of 16 Catfishes (37.5%) were contaminated with various parasites and the colony of parasite abstained from this six fishes which including: Cestoda, Plagiporus skerjabini (Digenea), Termatoda, Corynosoma strumosum (Acanthocephala). Observed lesion from this hypertrophy parasite is hyperplasia of the villi of the intestine.
